A major new policy consultation document calling for a fundamental transformation of the UK construction sector has been launched with the publication of the Industrialised Construction Green Paper, setting out a proposed strategic vision for scaling manufacturing-led construction across the built environment.

A new £85 million national challenge is set to overhaul how Britain delivers sustainable social housing, schools, hospitals and public infrastructure, in a bid to boost a sector worth more than £250 billion a year to the UK economy. 

The speaker line-up has been unveiled for the Industrialised Construction Conference 2026, bringing together a powerful mix of industry leaders, innovators and policymakers to examine how the sector can move from traditional site-based delivery to a production-led model of construction.

The government is set to launch a 12-week consultation on merging the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (EITB) into a single training body.
